If you live on the East Coast, then you’re probably experiencing the same snowy weather that we’ve been hit with over the past few days. Although the snow can be tranquil and relaxing (a huge plus!), I’m ready for mornings filled with birds singing, blooming flowers, and most importantly, nice enough weather to indulge in an afternoon reading outdoors.
A good book is always wonderful to read, but some books have a setting or tone that evokes a particular season. I find that every season I naturally lean towards a different genre of book. Winters are filled with thrillers, in the Fall I’m more prone to read science fiction novels, and Summers are spent reading light, airy romance novels. However, in the Spring, I’m captivated by all genres and read a little bit of everything. In light of the upcoming spring season (and my wishful thinking that it comes soon), take a look at some of the books that I’ve already read that remind me of spring and some that I’m eager to read this season.
- When You Reach Me by Rebecca Stead
- Twenties Girl by Sophie Kinsella
- Bringing Home the Dharma: Awakening Right Where You Are by Jack Kornfield
- Requiem by Lauren Oliver
- The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky
